self-promotion
so last night, we (the steinbecks) were sans Jerry Rinse, so we did a bit more work on what may be our first real recording for the new album. the track is called, well, i can't even tell you. let's just say that it's got nice sounding acoustic guitar (through a valve mic and a pair of pencils), a regular bass (with phase) and some great vocals.
i got my first shot at punching in+out+in+out. it was unexpectedly fun. it was great to be able to talk to josh, and help him through some of the trickier bits... i may have crap ears, but i enjoyed the personal side of being an engineer...
yay!

yup yup, producer is 90% human relations, 10% technical in my opinion. that's why i did vocals with matt hills producing back in the day, so i could have an objective listener to tell me when i'd nailed a vocal and could move on.
